MAY 2026 WALKS
During May 2026 we will be making donations to stonepillow who Empower homeless people to transform their lives.
stonepillow Last year – just as every year – helped hundreds of people make positive changes. Since their charity was established in 1989,they have supported thousands of people in West Sussex to restart their lives, with independence, dignity and confidence restored.

WEDNESDAY 13TH MAY
Heyshott & The Roughs Circular Approx. 3 Miles – 5km 9.30am
Meeting at 9.15am for a prompt 9.30am start we will be meeting at the Unicorn Pub at Heyshott before heading straight over the fields and into the woodlands and the Heyshott Roughs. We will then enjoy the views before we venture round back over the road back onto the fields and back to the starting point. Again hopefully as well as the beautiful woodland and heathland views we can enjoy any bluebells that are out before making our way back to the starting point at the Unicorn Pub.
There are lovely views throughout and lots of wildlife to enjoy in the woodlands.
Please note that there is small sections of road we need to cross and at times can be busy so care must be taken. Again there are no refreshments or facilities enroute but The Unicorn Inn will be open on later on if you wanted to grab yourself a drink and maybe something to eat. (Open from 12pm)
As the walk has mixed terrains and can get a little muddy and wet in places after rain its a good idea to have good walking boots/shoes and maybe waterproof socks. There are a few climbs and descents on the woodland areas.

Heyshott & Cocking Circular 3.6 Miles – 5.8km 11am
Meeting at 10.45am for a start after our first walk at 11am we will be starting at the Unicorn Pub at Heyshott, we will be taking a gentle 3.6 mile walk, walking our way around the country lanes to Cocking before making our way back through fields and woodlands, where we can enjoy any bluebells that are out before making our way back to the starting point at the Unicorn Pub.
There are lovely views across the patchwork hills of the Downs throughout and lots of wildlife to enjoy in the woodlands.
Please note that there is small sections of road walking on quite country lanes where we may meet a tractor or cyclist enroute and there are no refreshments enroute but The Unicorn Inn opens later in the morning if you were wanting to stay on to grab yourself a drink. (Open from 12pm)
As the walk has mixed terrains and can get a little muddy and wet in places after rain its a good idea to have good walking boots/shoes and maybe waterproof socks. There is one sloped part going into the woods off the field and care needs to be taken.

THURSDAY 21st MAY
Hunston to Chichester and Back Canal Walk – Approx. 3 Miles 5km – 9.30AM
Meeting at Hunston Car Park at 9.15am for our first walk for a 9.30am start we will take a relaxed flat walk up alongside the canal towards Chichester where we can enjoy a refreshment before turning around and enjoying the views on the way back. We may see the canal boats in action as well as lots of wildlife along the canal; maybe spotting Swans, Moorhens, ducks or if we are lucky a kingfisher.
There are facilities on this part of the walk and the halfway point at the Chichester Canal Cafe where there will be toilets and refreshments if required. A small car park at the starting area just at the entrance into Hunston on the bend by the canal. Dogs on leads are welcome and a £1 donation to the charity of the month. TUESDAY 26TH MAY
Loves Farm, Benbow Pond & Cowdray – 6 Miles
Meeting at the Cowdray Cafe Car Park at 9.45am for a 10am start we will be taking on a 6 mile beautiful scenic walk, we will be heading over the main road to the avenue of trees out to Loves Farm and then heading up to the top of the hill where we will see spectacular views of the downs and the wood carved monument.
We will then head down back to the fields at the back of Benbow Pond, and through the golf course and back through to Easebourne around the Cowdray Polo fields and down to the ruins before making our way back to the start. Taking care on the rougher sections, especially in wetter conditions, and when crossing the golf course where you will need to be aware of golfers appropriate footwear is advised. Dogs on leads are welcome, £2 donation for this walk and toilets and refreshments available at Cowdray Cafe and Shop before and after the walk. As with all our walks you walk at your own risk and responsible for your own health and safety.

JUNE WALKS
During June we will be walking for Midhurst Green Volunteers and raising money to help support the local work that they do in our community keeping the streets and paths clean and tidy around Midhurst and Easebourne.
TUESDAY 2ND JUNE

WEDNESDAY 10TH JUNE
Lickfold & Lurgashall Circular Approx. 3 Miles 5km 9.30am
Meeting at 9.15am for a prompt 9.30am start at Three Horseshoes-Lickfold we will be making our way over to Lurgashall which firstly takes us on one of the country lanes before turning off into beautiful woodlands. We will then make our way over fields, through an old orchard before heading into Lurgashall green where we can stop at the local Village Store for refreshments before making our way back on a country lane to the starting point.
This walk is a mixture of roads, woodlands and fields and in some areas after rain it can be a little muddy and boggy. A 3 mile route and you are welcome to bring your dog along. £1 donation to our charity of the month and to note you are responsible for your own health safety as well as your dogs.

Lickfold Woodlands Circular Approx. 3.5 Miles 5.6km 11.15am
Meeting at 11am following on from our first walk we will meet back at Three Horseshoes-Lickfold for a 11.15am start where we will head over onto fields before making our way through the countryside heading down into the woods. We do go through a footpath which can take you through a horse field. At the time of walking this route there were no horses, but there is a possibility of them being in the field so dogs need to be kept on leads. We will also possibly cross a field with sheep in so again around livestock and animals they must go on leads.
We will walk through various terrains and some climbs and descents and overgrown areas possibly as the summer progresses. During wet periods the ground can get very wet so good walking boots are ideal. There are some steps to make your way down in places and also stiles to cross.
