JUNE WALKS
During June we will be walking for Midhurst Green Volunteers and raising money to help support the local work that they do in our community keeping the streets and paths clean and tidy around Midhurst and Easebourne.
TUESDAY 23RD JUNE – CANCELLED DUE TO HEAT – APOLOGIES BUT DUE TO SAFETY IT IS TOO HOT TO WALK IN THIS WEATHER
Petersfield Lake and Heath Relaxed Hour Walk and Coffee – 10.30am
Due to me taking on a large Ultra Event on the Saturday unfortunately I am not able to offer the full 6 mile walk as planned but instead will be offering a relaxed gentle walk around Petersfield Lake, some of the heath and we can enjoy coffee and cake half away around at The Plump Duck
Meeting at 10.30am we will walk for about an hour then have something to drink and eat by the lake which you can purchase from the Plump Duck
We will park in the main car park of the lake opposite Russell Way just past Sussex Road

TUESDAY 30TH JUNE
Durleighmarsh & Sky Park Farm Circular 3 miles – 9.45am
Meeting at The Tea Barn at Durleighmarsh at 9.30am for a prompt 9.45am start we will enjoy a walk over to the area of the Sky Park Farm walking over pathways through fields and enjoying great views of the South Downs.
We will walk on a number of footpaths, across fields with one part from Sky Park Farm back to Durleighmarsh along a back road. After rain the fields may a little wet in places so Boots or wellies are highly recommended. This is a short walk that you are welcome to bring the dog but note that we do pass through the Sky Park Farm where deer may be present (although in their own areas) but they will need to be on a lead during this part.
Mainly a flat route but again after rain the pathways could be a bit muddy and slippery in places.
As before you are responsible for your own health and safety. £1 per walk donation towards the charity of the month. Facilities during opening hours at The Tea Barn at Durleighmarsh

Durleighmarsh & Hillbrow Circular 4 miles – 11.15am
Meeting at The Tea Barn at Durleighmarsh we will enjoy a walk around the Hill Brow Circular. A beautiful 5.4km walk taking in great views of the South Downs. Meeting at 11am for a 11.15am start.
We will walk through the woods and around the farm land and you will have views toward the South Downs. Boots or wellies are highly recommended as this route can get quite muddy in places. This is a short walk that you are welcome to bring the dog but note that you may pass cows along the way so they will need to be on a lead
There are some inclines and declines on this route and although this is on pathways sometimes there is a section that can be a little overgrown at times so please be aware of this.

During July 2026 we will be walking for Abby’s Heroes
Abby’s Heroes are a local charity who help and support children and their families, including bereaved families, who come under the care of the Piam Brown and the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) wards at Southampton General Hospital.They offer financial and practical help as well as the opportunity to make lasting memories for the children and their families.

WEDNESDAY 8TH JULY
Chichester Marina & Dell Quay Walk 3.25 mile – 9.45am
Meeting at the Boat House Cafe at Chichester Marina at 9.30am for a 9.45am start we will be taking on a 3.25 mile beautiful scenic walk, walking around the edge of the marina up to Dell Quay where we will then walk back around the fields to the start passing The old RAF Apuldram Air Field and Farmland.
A mixture of marine views, woodland, and farmland with a chance of seeing the swans too. Dogs on leads are welcome, £1 donation per walk and toilets and refreshments available at the Boat House Cafe before and after the walk. Please note parking charges may apply.

THURSDAY 16TH JULY
Stedham Mill Walk 3.1 miles – 9.30am
Meeting at 9.15am for a 9.30am start this 3.1 miles (5.10km walk) starts at the Woolbeding Car Park, just off the A272 (turning right at the Woolbeding Junction and right again into the car park) we will walk across to Woolbeding Bridge, crossing the road up onto a field taking us through a wooded area, over a wooden bridge onto a footpath taking us through to Stedham Village.
We will then walk past the church taking us down to the stunning Stedham Mill across a footpath and bridge alongside the river, through a field continuing around the river where we may get a chance of seeing the heron, wild deer in the fields, cattle and horses on route.
Dogs are welcome on leads around wildlife. £1 per walk donated to the charity of the month and note as always you walk at your own risk. No facilities on this route.

Starting back at the Woolbeding Car Park (just off the A272) Woolbeding after our first walk we will meet around 11am for a 11.15am start. We will enjoy a Rother River 2.82 mile walk and will start by walking up the gradual hill of Woolbeding Parkland viewing the Woolbeding Glasshouse in the distance.
Walking on the Rother Walk we will continue to walk through the woods down the other side of the hill where you can view the Folly in the distance. Sometimes we are lucky to view the cattle grazing in the parkland fields. Continuing along the river walk, we will head over a long wooden boardwalk walking then along the paths around the often muddy paths along the side of the river where you can enjoy the views of the reeds, rushes, trees and wildlife.

TUESDAY 21ST JULY
Goodwood Hills and Centurion Way Walk – 7 miles – 9.30am
Meeting at 9.15am for a 9.30am start at The Selsey Arms we will explore the new part of the Centurion Way Walk visiting the old Singleton Railway before venturing up to see the spectacular views from the hills of Goodwood, onto the Trundle and returning back to West Dean to enjoy more of the Centurion Way taking us back to the start. There are a couple of steeper hills to climb, the Tbox Coffee stop at the top of the Trundle will hopefully be open (weather dependant) approx. 4 miles into the route before we climb back down onto the Centurion Way where it is then flat to the starting point.
The route takes in a mix of sights and terrains as we make our way around. Parking, refreshments and facilities are available during opening hours at The Selsey Arms and also West Dean Village Store.

WEDNESDAY 5TH AUGUST
Woolbeding Rother Walk 2.82 miles – 9.30am
Starting at the Woolbeding Car Park (just off the A272) Woolbeding our first walk we will meet around 9.15am for a 9.30am start. We will enjoy a Rother River 2.82 mile walk and will start by walking up the gradual hill of Woolbeding Parkland viewing the Woolbeding Glasshouse in the distance.
Walking on the Rother Walk we will continue to walk through the woods down the other side of the hill where you can view the Folly in the distance. Sometimes we are lucky to view the cattle grazing in the parkland fields. Continuing along the river walk, we will head over a long wooden boardwalk walking then along the paths around the often muddy paths along the side of the river where you can enjoy the views of the reeds, rushes, trees and wildlife.

TUESDAY 18TH AUGUST
Queen Elizabeth Extended Circular Walk – 7 miles – 9.30am
Meeting at 9.15am for a 9.30am start at The Queen Elizabeth Country Park visitor centre we will enjoy a 6.7 mile walk winding through the woods of the Queen Elizabeth Country Park taking in War Down and Buriton Chalk Pits. Hopefully we will be able to spot some wildlife as we make our way around. There are a number of hills to climb on this walk and some of the paths can be a little slippery in places after rain but the views are amazing and worth the climb. A moderate/harder walk for some. Allowing 3.5 hours for the walk as it will be at a slower pace because of the hills.
Please note there are multi-user trails on this route, with mountain bikers, runners, and walkers all using the paths. Take care on the rougher sections of this trail, especially in wetter weather. Appropriate footwear is advised. Parking fees are mandatory to access the main visitor centre car park. The route takes in a mix of sights and terrains as we make our way around. Parking, refreshments and facilities are available during opening hours at the start and finish only . Dogs on leads are welcome, £2 donation for this walk towards our charity of the month this walk is approx. 6.7 miles 11km.

TUESDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER
Boxgrove & Halnaker Windmill 6 mile walk – 9.30am
9.30am start (meeting at 9.15am) setting off from the Boxgrove Car Park we will make our way over to see the Boxgrove Priory another historical landmark which was founded in 1107 originally for 3 monks, and also the beautiful church before continuing on around the Tinwood Vineyards where we will then make our way up to see the windmill and the stunning 360 views from the top before returning to the starting point.
As before you are responsible for your own health and safety. £2 donation towards the charity of the month for this walk. Boots or wellies are highly recommended as this route can get quite muddy in places especially after rain.
Tinwood Vineyards if open we can stop in there for refreshments and facilities enroute back from the windmill.
