AUGUST WALKS

During August our Weekly walks we will be donating to Charlies Promise. I will also be taking on the 43km Ultra Challenge from Hove to Arundel on the 7th September raising money for this local charity who is supporting and educating young people about the dangers and consequences of Knife Crime.

Charlie’s Promise was founded because of a senseless crime that should never of happened, now the family is trying to stop that from happening to other families, so nobody else has to feel the emptiness that they do.

Charlie Cosser meant something to so many people and his life was stolen from him through a pure act of cowardly violence and rage. A senseless knife crime that has destroyed so many lives.

Their little boy ( only 17 when he passed in 2023) was destined for great things in this world but his death will not stop him from achieving them. Martin (Charlie’s dad) and family are convinced that education is the strongest tool that we have in the fight against knife crime and their little boys legacy has already and will continue to save lives.

You will be helping to raise money for Midhurst Palliative Care whilst walking in memory of a loved one, whether that be a family member or friend, or even your pet, with a battery operated night light which will be offered at a suggested donation of £1 from the start of our walk and carry it on our journey to Easebourne Church, sharing a special connection with those we have lost during our walk.

Setting out from The Grange, we will walk around South Pond, over to the bottom of St Annes Hill, along side the river down to the polo fields and then onto the Macmillan Midhurst Tree of Hope at Easebourne Church where walkers will be invited to write a message for their loved one and lay in the church along with their night light. Refreshments will be supplied by Midhurst Palliative Care at Easebourne Church, or you are welcome to join MADhurst at the Memorial Hall where refreshments will be supplied by MADhurst with colouring, where children can colour their ideas of what is at the end of the rainbow.
